keniel1Keniel Cabrera's story with HHA began in 2014 when he was hired through our Summer Youth Employment Program and placed at Lyman Terrace. Keniel immediately stood out from the group - he was eager and willing to learn, responsible, punctual and determined; he was a true leader from day one. Keniel was hired summer after summer and proved himself to be the worker that everyone wanted on their crew. He aged out of the program at 18, went on to graduate from Paolo Freire Social Justice Charter School in 2018 and found part-time employment doing custodial work and as a PCA caring for his aging Uncle and Grandmother. Keniel stayed in touch with those he was close with at HHA and when the opportunity to apply for the Maintenance Custodian/Groundskeeper position presented itself, he jumped at it. Once again, he was the clear choice and stood out amongst the group of applicants. Now, at 23 years old he is a full-time employee at HHA and celebrated his first month of employment yesterday. We are thrilled to have Keniel as part of the HHA team and are confident he will have a long and productive tenure.
