Applicants

The Holyoke Housing Authority owns and operates 821 conventional public housing units in 12

developments and scattered sites throughout the city, ranging from high-rise apartments to multi-family and single-family homes.

The Holyoke Housing Authority also administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Massachusetts Rental Voucher programs, which provide rental vouchers for approximately 1,500 units of housing in the private market.

 

How to Apply

Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program: Program applications may be downloaded from the MASSNAHRO Section 8 Centralized Waitling List page or obtained in person at the Holyoke Housing Authority Admissions and Occupancy Office.

Conventional Public Housing:

  • State Public Housing Programs - The state based waiting lists is managed by DHCD (The Departement of Housing and Community Development). You can apply and check your status at https://publichousingapplication.ocd.state.ma.us/

  • Federal Public Housing Programs - Applications for Federal Public Housing may be obtained and returned at the Holyoke Housing Authority Admissions and Occupancy Office located at 475 Maple Street. Alternatively, you may download the public housing application, but you must return the original application to the office.
